14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Heb. 4:14-16 NIV)
Recently we had the feast of Jom Kippur in Israel. This is an important day for us, Christians as well, because through the Day of Atonement and the blood of atonement this alienation between God and man is put aside. This is how through atonement we can be reconciled to God, we can have fellowship and communion with God. The basic message of the New Testament is that Jesus Christ, the son of God became an atoning sacrifice for us, and he died on the cross of Calvary, was buried and rose on the third day and took his blood of atonement up to the Father that it may be redemption for all of us. Glory to God, the Father accepted this redemptive sacrifice and the proof of this is the fact that he poured out the Holy Spirit. After his glorification, Jesus Christ took his place at the right hand of the Father.
As high priest to share the good things and the gifts of God with his people. He continues his intersession for us today and sent the Holy Spirit, who is the spirit of grace brings down the gifts of God in our lives. Because the Bible says that God has prepared such gifts for those who love him which eye has not seen, ear has not heard and the human heart has not conceived. Glory to God, the Holy Spirit shares the same gifts today. This is why the word of God says that we should approach the throne of grace with boldness. One of the preconditions of partaking this grace of God is trust. Trust stands on the fact that God is good, He is not a man that He should lie, nor He is the son of man that He should change his promises. Whatever He said, He will do.
We are living in such a prophetic time today as well. When the promises of God are fulfilled in our lives and we see the same in the life of Israel. It is important today to ask for more grace, because we see that there are insurmountable obstacles in the way of Israel and in the way of the plan of God. Even previous generations were only able to surmount these obstacles with the help of the grace of God. This is the same today. The grace of God enables us to have fellowship with the Father and with the Son to preach the gospel, as the Apostle Paul says He gives us the ability to do it. We are not servants of the letter, but we are servants of the Spirit.
The ministry of the Spirit means the ministry of glory, which is not a passing glory but a remaining glory. This is why the word of God says that wherever the Spirit of the Lord is present, there is freedom. We can see and observe the glory of God with an uncovered face. As a result this, the Holy Spirit transforms us to the likeness of Christ and his image. This is something we are need of very much. My life was also changed when I met the Holy Spirit. After I was filled with the Holy Spirit, I was able to come out of empty religion, of intellectualism and it was a tremendous experience for me to see and feel the power of the kingdom of God which breaks the yokes, heals from diseases, and casts out demons from inside of me. Ever since I live according to the Spirit, the Spirit of God. This is why we are able to reach the grace of God through the Holy Spirit. As Jesus of Nazareth never let anyone down during his earthly ministry, in the same way today, if we come to his presence with trust, He hears you and will not despise you.
So one of the preconditions of receiving grace is trust which means that you lean on God, on His supernatural power and not on our own power, not on our own intellect and that is when the power of God is liberated. I would like to call your attention, dear brothers and sisters to the second condition of receiving grace which is humbling yourself. God says that he resists the prone but gives grace to the humble. Humbleness means that we admit our responsibility before God. Especially these days there is a great burden on my spirit as I see that in certain countries anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel is rising. I believe it is a very important part of humbling oneself that the Christian world be cleansed of traditional Christian anti-Semitism. Especially now, when Israel is threatened in its very existence by a demonic power. Not only Israel, but the entire Judeo-Christian values and democracy is also threatened in its very existence. Hence we cannot consider this some private affair.
We cannot be indifferent and passive about the fact that in Europe and in other countries as well, anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism is rising. You know, we Christians have been blessed by God through Israel. God gave us the Bible through Israel, the fathers, the covenant, the law, the right way of worshipping, the promises, the Messiah. What is more, the Apostle Paul even says that their disobedience to the gospel is for the benefit of the Gentiles, the nations. So the time has come and this is why I highly appreciate the work of the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem, that for 33 years now they are toiling for this cause to strengthen the ties between Israel and the nations. We are also doing our part in Hungary where we have the largest anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist and antidemocratic party in Parliament in all of Europe, which are poisoning the nation’s conscience through Iranian support and Iranian financial support. This is a new challenge for us and we intend to give the right answer to this challenge.
God showed me that we have to be much more responsible concerning our own nation, because we are also responsible for this situation before God. This is why it is crucial that we express our love that we have towards Israel in specific actions. We see in the Bible that grace is the free gift of God which can be obtained through faith. However, you may initiate the outpouring of grace through supplication, subservience, the seeking of the kingdom of God and also good works. I’m not saying that these good works would compel God or force Him to give us more grace. But they definitely play a part in attracting God’s attention to pour out more grace on us. We need this in the body of Christ. This grace enables us to grow and develop in the future. Because there are many people heading to hell and many people are living in ignorance concerning the plans of God. We see in the Bible that the men of faith and the women of faith did cause God to pour out his grace on them through actions of faith. One of the best examples of this is Rahab from the Old Testament, who didn’t only receive the spies of Israel, but she also believed in the plan of God concerning the land. She said to the spies: I know that God will give you the land and the God of Israel is God in heaven and on earth. She stood on the side of Israel when there was a conflict situation between her nation and the nation of Israel, she went against her own king. Why was she able to do this? Because she believed in the plan of God and in his purposes concerning Israel. If we also believe in God’s plan and purpose concerning Israel, in the fact that God will restore Israel, not only on the national level, but also spiritually.
This intervention of God will raise the nations as well into the kingdom of God. Then I’m convinced that as a result of this vision we will be able to commit ourselves fully to the work of God and the kingdom of God wherever we live. It’s not enough today to express our love towards Israel on the emotional level in different communities. Because Satan is also running around, accusing, cursing, slandering and trying to turn the nations against Israel that the nations themselves would become obstacles in the plan and programme of God. The prophecy of Jeremiah is very relevant today.
“Hear the word of the Lord, you nations;
proclaim it in distant coastlands:
‘He who scattered Israel will gather them
and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’ (Jer 31:10)
The Iranian propaganda does everything to give a Khomeini interpretation of the gathering of the Jewish people to this land and the restoration of Israel. Now among the nations who is it that could go against this propaganda? Obviously, those are people who are born-again, filled with the spirit of God, who know the promise and the plans of God. It is our task that we give a biblical interpretation to the gathering of the Jews to the land and to the restoration of the nation of Israel. It is especially painful to see in Hungary that at the universities Iranian propaganda has a great influence on the young people.
Every day cursing and swearing is hurled against Israel. This means work for us, Hungarian Christians that in public life, in the areas where people are formulating their opinions that these evil tongues may be dispersed with spiritual power with truths concerning Israel and truths concerning Jerusalem all these dark forces. That people may be liberated to the truth and we must be just as active in this area at least in Europe as in preaching the gospel. Because anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism deprives nations from the blessings of God, destroys societies, and it’s in the way of growth and development of churches. Because the growth and the development of churches in the future is highly dependent as it was back in the thirties in Europe, whether Christians are able to refute this demonic propaganda. I believe that we will be successful.
We know the end result, but it’s important for us to take our stand in our everyday life that in all the trials we got into we may fight the fight of faith with victory. Because the Lord is ready to lead us to victory through Jesus Christ. In Zachariah 3 we see that the true obstacle of the restoration of Jerusalem. Satan himself is an obstacle to the fact that Jerusalem may remain the eternal capital of Israel that his efforts are due to fail concerning Jerusalem as well because Jesus Christ has stretched out his dominion over Jerusalem as well by putting away the controlling spirits over the city as well. This is why God wants us to pray with grace and supplication as you’ve heard and use our spiritual power to destroy the strongholds. Let us stand on the walls of Jerusalem as the prophet Isaiah says that we should not stop reminding God of his promise. We cannot expect someone else to do this for us, this is the task of the church, every Bible-believing person’s task, and this is our obligation.
I’m very happy to be here among you, because the Holy Spirit has strengthened me these days that we continue this struggle in a very committed way, because Jesus Christ has disarmed the principalities and powers in its own you and Satan will not be able to stop the restoration of Israel or the restoration of the church. The Holy Spirit will return all the gifts and the good things of God which the enemy has taken away from the people of God. I believe that there will be true revival in Europe as well, there have been wars but God leads us to victory in Europe as well. In closing, I would like to encourage you, brothers and sisters that your work in the Lord is not in vain. May the Lord bless you in a rich, abundant way, overflowing way and may he share with you the gifts and the charismas of the Holy Spirit that you may represent the kingdom of God in power and in spirit together with me in our nations, because this is a time of salvation, a prophetic time. If we are obedient to the word of God, he will glorify Jesus Christ in our lives.
Continue to pray for Jerusalem as Psalm 122 says “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and may all those who love you be blessed.” You are such blessed and happy people. May the Lord bless you in an abundant way! You are true blessing for us as well. Thank you very much.
