Satan and His Realm

The Bible refers to him by several names that also define his main activities. Some are: destroyer, accuser, thief, devil, slanderer, the father of lies, murderer of men, the god of this world, the prince of the authorities of the air, etc. He organized a kingdom from his followers that is led by himself. Their headquarters is in the heavenly realms.

Lucifer is one of the mightiest and most beautiful angelic princes who was God's anointed cherub. He became boastful because of his special role and power. He organized a rebellion against God before the creation of Adam. He wanted to make himself equal with God. He got a part of the angels involved in the rebellion. God responded by throwing him down from heaven, along with his followers. Thus, Lucifer became Satan, the enemy of God.

Their most important tasks are:

  • The frustration of God's plans and promises
  • Holding the people, families and nations under Satanic control
  • Obscuring Jesus' work of redemption
  • Accusing the believers, tearing them away from the praise and worship of God
  • Hindering the spiritual, psychic and material improvement of the church

The final purpose of their activities is the accomplishment of the total authority of Satan on Earth. The most powerful servants of Satan are the wicked angels of Death and Hell. The angel of Death has authority over the bodies of humans and causes physical death. Hell has authority to hold the spirits of people who died as sinners in his own realm. Demons are spiritual beings that are lower in rank to the wicked angels. They have no bodies, live near the earth and their main purpose is to move into the bodies of people and realize their evil desires through them. Their leader is Beelzebub. The Bible also calls them impure or evil spirits. It is the consequence of the rebellion of Lucifer that harmony fell apart in the world and a terrific spiritual battle started between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan.
